In addition to many favorable properties of Green Stuff® Absorbent, there are several other advantages that come with its use:

Waste generators are encouraged by regulatory agencies to reduce the amount of waste generated and disposed of in landfills. In many states, generators are required to report waste minimization efforts and results. Green Stuff® Absorbent is a significant help with waste minimization for several reasons: it weighs less and absorbs more than most competitive absorbents and reduces the reportable tonnage of waste shipped offsite. This can be a large reduction compared to clay products used as the absorbent.

A unique feature of Green Stuff® Absorbent is its ability to be fuel blended. Green Stuff® Absorbent has a BTU value greater than 12,000 BTU’s per pound. For waste to be burned in a cement kiln as a hazardous waste fuel replacement for coal or other fuels, the BTU value of the waste should be at least equal to the BTU value of the fuel being replaced. Green Stuff® Absorbent is readily dispersible with fuel liquids. It transports in bulk tankers without significant tank settling problems and in many instances enhances the BTU value of the fuel sent to the cement kiln. Absorbents using clay will settle out when transporting the fuels and does not add to fuel value. Sawdust, paper and other materials using fibrous materials are difficult to fuel blend because they will tend to block filters and clog piping used in the fuel blending process. Because of the unique qualities of Green Stuff® Absorbent, the waste generator can also expect favorable economies in disposal costs.

Green Stuff® Absorbent offers unique advantages for waste sent to hazardous, non-hazardous or MSW landfills. Waste sent to landfills must be dry enough to pass a “Paint Filter” test. This test requires that there can be no free liquids leaking through the filter. Using Green Stuff® Absorbent, the waste generator is assured that this test will be passed. Typically, landfills will charge a landfill fee based upon a price per ton. With Green Stuff® Absorbent’s light weight, there is a significant cost savings versus clay-based absorbents.

Green Stuff® Absorbent offers advantages in the processing of dry waste fed pneumatically into a kiln. Systems using pneumatic feed into kilns must have dry fuel, otherwise the waste will adhere to the equipment and can cause blockage. For non-hazardous incinerators burning industrial and MSW, Green Stuff® Absorbent offers advantages in that it enhances BTU’s and absorbs all of the liquids of the waste so it can be fed into the incinerator. Since incineration prices are usually based on a tonnage, the waste generator will see a cost savings.
