See toxicological information (Section 11)

Section 5 – Fire Fighting Measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media: Foam, Carbon Dioxide, Dry Chemical or Water.
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media: None known.
Specific Hazards Arising from the Chemical: No specific explosion hazard. Finished material is not flammable, in that it does not burn with an open flame. It will support combustion if it is ignited by direct contact with an open flame or exposed to temperatures in the range of 600 F. If material is placed in a microwave for an extended period, it will begin to burn.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Not determined. Under fire conditions, product may decompose to give off fumes of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide.
Flash Point: N/A
Special protective equipment and precautions for firefighters: Firefighters should wear full protective gear used in fighting fires, including self-contained breathing apparatus.

Section 6 – Accidental Release Measures

Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment and Emergency Procedures: Stop spill at source. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (Sec. 8). Contain the spill to facilitate clean up with absorbent. Transfer to disposal containers.
Environmental Precautions: Do not release into sewers or waterways.
Methods and Materials for Containment and Cleaning Up: Move containers from spill area. Prevent entry into sewers, water courses, basements or confined areas. Vacuum or sweep up material and place in a designated, labeled waste container. Note: See Section 13 for waste disposal.

Section 7 – Handling and Storage

Precautions For Safe Handling: Eating, drinking and smoking should be prohibited in areas where this material is handled, stored and processed. Workers should wash hands and face before eating, drinking and smoking. See also Section 8 for additional information on hygiene measures.

Conditions For Safe Storage, Including Any Incompatibilities: Store in accordance with local regulations. Store in original container protected from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials (see Section 10) and food and drink. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Do not store in unlabeled containers. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.

Section 8 – Exposure Controls / Personal Protection

Occupational Exposure Limits: No exposure limit value known.
Recommended Monitoring Procedures/Appropriate
Engineering Controls: Provide general or local exhaust ventilation systems.
Individual Protection Measures: Respiratory protection not required if working in well-ventilated area. Use only NIOSH/MSHA approved equipment, if exposure is excessive. Wear safety glasses. Dust may irritate contact lenses. Wear standard work gloves. Practice good personal hygiene.
